UPCOMING dancehall artiste Romeo Antony, aka Shinso — whose music is currently receiving fair share of airplay on local charts — will for the first time perform in South Africa on April 26 and 27. Report by Tinashe Sibanda
The energetic young man’s maiden performance will take place at Pretoria’s Agony Centre Brakpan Hotel and the rising star says he has never been this prepared to spread wings to other nations.
“I’m happy and looking forward to performing in South Africa. I must say that they (fans) should expect the best from the dancehall father,” Shinso said.
The Kukunakidza hitmaker said he knew it that one day he would achieve his dreams and this was it. Signed under Hesh Mfeshi Recording label, Shinso has been in the music industry since 2007 and over the years his fame has been rising. He is now one of the country’s few dancehall artistes constantly featuring on all radio stations in Zimbabwe.
“I have no doubt that the young man will make us proud at his maiden show in Pretoria. Shinso is talented and above all, he has the willpower and perseverance to take him to the top of the game,” Hesh Mfeshi producer Joe Machingura said.
Shinso, among other dancehall gurus like Winky D, Snipper Storm and King Shaddy has become popular with local youths with his tracks Mbambamba and Maghetto Yuts.

He has been performing locally for the past few years and has since become one of the most sought after local dancehall musicians.
“After his performance, Shinso will delay his return home because he is going to be doing a collaboration with the South Africa-based awardwinning Zimbabwean musician, Buffalo Soldier, which I know will take him to yet another level,” Machingura said.
