SUNGURA artiste Josphat Somanje and his five band members were yesterday injured when a vehicle they were travelling in was involved in an accident in Dema communal lands in Seke.

Acting National Traffic Police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Luckmore Chakanza said the accident occurred at the 57km peg along the Harare-Wedza road. The musicians’ Toyota Venture vehicle collided head-on with a T35 truck heading towards Harare.
Never Somanje, nephew to Josphat, told NewsDay yesterday that drummer Afick Jones broke both legs, while Somanje sustained chest injuries.
The other band members — Patrick Jivason, Patrick Masuku, Alvin Sindi and Christopher Jackson — escaped with minor injuries.
