MEMBERS of the Penhalonga community were on Saturday left shocked after a farm worker discovered a plastic bag with two decomposing human foetuses while herding cattle. Report by Obey Manayiti

Police have since moved in to investigate the matter. According to Manicaland assistant police spokesperson Assitant Inspector Luxson Chananda, Tendai Finiyasi, who was herding cattle at Franklin Farm, saw an opaque plastic paper bag dumped in the bush.

He picked up the bag and upon opening it, he found the decomposing human foetuses. Finiyasi went on to advise his superiors at the farm who then made a police report.

Chananda said police were still carrying out investigations into the matter, but warned that people should take responsibility and avoid committing crimes of such nature.

“People must not run away from responsibility. They should take up the pregnancy with the involved person and stop this habit of abortion or baby dumping as it is a serious offence under the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act,” he said. He added that the long arm of the law would soon catch up with the culprit.
