SOUTH African songbird Zahara jets into the country on Friday for the anticipated launch of her second album Phendula at 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale.

Although the album does not have similar success locally to that of her debut Loliwe, it has received rave reviews in her home country.

She is expected at 12:05pm aboard a South African Airways flight with her 11-member travelling party.

The euphoria that Zahara is coming to Zimbabwe aside, the show will also be a launch pad for rising musician Tariro neGitare (Tariro Ruzvidzo).

Having performed her biggest show locally at the Tuku Tribute earlier this year, performing with him again alongside Zahara is another achievement for the artiste.

Yesterday, the musician said she was excited about the show.

“I have performed in the German band Jamaram in that country which could easily be my biggest achievement, but having Zahara and Tuku (Oliver Mtukudzi) on the same line-up is quite a great feat,” she said.

“This will be my proper public introduction having performed mainly at smaller shows.”

Her Germany experience included performing in 17 cities in two weeks in March and April. The musician is currently marketing her self-titled debut album.
