A security guard at the home of Oscar Pistorius has defended his own account of phone calls made in the minutes after the shooting of Reeva Steenkamp.

Pieter Baba said he had phoned Mr Pistorius and not the other way round, as the defence team had suggested.

Earlier, a former girlfriend of the Olympic and Paralympic athlete told how he had once fired a gun from his car after becoming angry with police.

The double amputee denies intentionally killing Ms Steenkamp.

He says he mistook the 29-year-old model and aspiring lawyer for an intruder.
