Police sources said the suspect, Samson Maravani, was expected to appear in court soon over the alleged murder of Brighton Chimamiso at a dam located inside the ranch.
Ward 32 councillor Antony Magaude said Chimamiso was allegedly shot at point-blank range after he attempted to flee in a canoe.
Chimamiso’s body was recovered from the dam on Monday and taken to Chiredzi General Hospital for post-mortem.
Sources said Maravani was arrested following a tip-off and is expected to appear in court soon over the alleged murder.
