EIGHTY-SEVEN students graduated yesterday after completing an 18-month course on Community-Based Work with Children and Youth (CBWCY) in Harare offered by the Regional Psychosocial Support Initiative (Repssi).

This is the third cycle graduation ceremony.
Repssi country director, Brighton Gwezera said the programme was aimed providing community facilitators or case workers with vital and sustainable training in the context of their community.
“The certificate programme is currently offered in nine countries in East and Southern Africa,” Gwezera said.
He said 1 396 students were enrolled across the region and of these, 87 students completed the programme and graduated yesterday.

“To our graduates you have persevered and conquered and now it is the time to enjoy the fruits of your hard work,” Gwezera said.
“You are the human social capital that will make the change happen in your community. The practical experience gained from this programme enables you to effectively support families and their children to thrive.”
Repssi provides easy-to-use and culturally appropriate tools, and sharing innovative approaches. They train partners to provide social and emotional services to children and their communities, and produce activities and tools that can be used with children, youth, communities and families.
