Magistrate Sekai Chiundura remanded him in custody to today for sentencing.
The court heard that Saurombe was intercepted and arrested in Bocha communal lands on Sunday while driving a truck loaded with 111 bales of second-hand clothes.
It is alleged that Saurombe initially attempted to flee, but stopped after police shot at and deflated his vehicle tyres.
Saurombe immediately jumped off the truck and took to his heels, leaving the vehicle with the smuggled goods.
