TWO commuter omnibus conductors and a security guard who were part of a crowd alleged to have sexually molested a female commuter, accusing her of being improperly dressed at the Fourth Street bus terminus in Harare, appeared in court yesterday. STAFF REPORTER

The three accused persons, Lessy Muzavazi (26), Dungen Mutape (16) and Constantine Muterekwa (47) who is employed by Fullswitch Security Company, were charged with criminal insult and indecent assault as defined in the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23.

Prosecutor Peter Kachirika told the court that on August 28 2014 at 8:30am, the 22-year–old complainant from Hillside was passing through the Fourth Street bus terminus when people started whistling and cat-calling to her.

Muzavazi, who resides in Hatcliffe Extension, and Muterekwa from Dzivarasekwa Extension, together with many others who are still at large, pulled up the complainant’s dress.

Mutape, of Support Unit Police Camp at Chikurubi, allegedly started fondling the accused person’s private parts without her consent.

The court heard that the complainant later went home and her relatives accompanied her to the police to file a report.
