The four-day event, unlike last year, incorporated three important events; namely the language and culture consultation workshop, the first heritage tour and cultural festival and the South East Business indaba focusing on tourism.

In an interview with NewsDay yesterday, one of the organisers Herbert Pikhela made a plea for corporate assistance to promote cultural activities in the Lowveld.

“The festival was a success. Everything went according to our plans and the greatest thing is that we received many guests than we anticipated,” he said.

“We toured various areas including Buffalo Range Airport, Murray Museum in Tongaat Hulett, Gonarezhou National Park and other areas. We also had various groups that performed cultural dances during our tours.”
