Incoming Zanu PF Women’s League secretary and First Lady Grace Mugabe is today scheduled to address students drawn from the country’s tertiary education institutions at her Mazowe Orphanage Home as part of her campaign to reach out to all party structures ahead of the elective congress early next month.

Today’s meeting was organised by the Zanu PF-aligned Zimbabwe College Students Union.

This comes a Vice-President Joice Mujuru has hit back at her critics who have been pushing for her ouster on allegations of corruption and plotting to topple President Robert Mugabe, saying the allegations were untrue and highly defamatory.

13:10 Youth executive member Cecelia Chivhunga is booed off the stage and called a sellout. Earlier, there were reports that another executive member Varaidzo Mupunga was allegedly beaten up and barred from the rally venue.

12:30 Youth leaders, including Godwin Gomwe (Harare, Edmore Samambwa (Midlands) and Kudzai Chipanga (deputy secretary for youths) all take turns to denounce Mujuru, insisiting they will defy suspended Zanu PF spokesperson’s statement to ban hate slogans like down with Gamatox.

12:00 The sloganeering and denunciation continues with accusations being thrown into the slogans and speeches being made by the students.

Environment minister Saviour Kasukuwere, Patrick Zhuwao and new war veterans leader and deputy Foreign affairs minister have arrive to ruptuous support from the crowd.

Higher and Tertiary Education minister Olivia Muchena, who has been part of Grace Mugabe’s first round of rallies is conspicuously not present and her name is among those that are being denounced.

11:30 Grace has arrived with her entourage.

Students are singing and chanting “Down with Gamatox” slogans and other mottos that denounce those who are perceived to be against the ascendancy of Grace to the Women’s League post.

Individuals that continue to receive denunciation include Mashonaland East Zanu Pf chair Ray Kaukonde, Zanu PF Secretary for Adminstration Didymus Mutasa and suspended Zanu PF spokesperson Rugare Gumbo, and Olivia Muchena.
