CHIEF magistrate Mishrod Guvamombe has urged judicial officers to remain principled and shun corruption in order to uphold the dignity of their profession. STAFF REPORTER

Guvamombe made the remarks while addressing magistrates, interpreters, clerks of court, transcribers and recorders during a tour of the Harare Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

“I urge you to serve our clientele in a polite way and on time. As the Judicial Service Commission, we have adopted zero tolerance to corruption and I urge you to desist from such kind of behaviour,” Guvamombe said.

“I also want to take this opportunity to thank you all for working hard in 2014 and I also encourage you to continue with that spirit and work hard to reduce the case backlog in line with our mission statement to deliver world-class justice.”
