BUDIRIRO MP Costa Machingauta (MDC-T) has been discharged from hospital and is recuperating at home following his brutal attack by suspected Zanu PF supporters in Harare last Thursday.

Machingauta was hospitalised together with at least 10 other MDC-T activists who sustained various injuries during the assault. MDC-T national spokesperson Obert Gutu yesterday said Machingauta was discharged from hospital on Sunday.

“He is better now. He was discharged from hospital yesterday (Sunday) and he is recovering at home,” Gutu said.

The MP was reportedly assaulted as he was coming from his party’s rally dubbed “No Reforms, No Elections” at Glen View 3 shops in Harare which was addressed by the party leader Morgan Tsvangirai.

The rally sought to explain to supporters the party’s position on why MDC-T was boycotting the forthcoming by-elections. Several civil society organisations have roundly condemned
