YIELDS of Love Trust (YOLT) will tomorrow conduct a street clean-up campaign as part of a drive dubbed “Embrace the Mother Campaign: Adopt a Child in Prison” which runs until the end of October.

YOLT is partnered by ZimHosts Webdesigners and Micromag Computers in the campaign which will stretch from Fourth Street taxi rank, through Jason Moyo Street to Copacabana terminus.
Stanford Gezi, the trust’s chairperson and co-founder, said they had been given the green light by the local authorities and they were going to commission bins to uphold cleanliness in the central business district (CBD).
“This is a social responsibility quest we are driving as a trust with our partners to also embrace the Mother campaign that we are currently doing at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison and other prisons in the country,” Gezi said
“After the clean-up, we are going to donate bins that will be strategically placed along Jason Moyo Avenue to promote a clean environment in the CBD.”

He said that Yields of Love would, besides the clean-up campaign, have a fundraising dinner and a sponsored walk from Harare to Marondera which would be graced by the Mashonaland East Provincial Affairs minister Joel Biggie Matiza and Marondera mayor Anthony Makwindi.
“The money we will get from these planned events will go to income-generating projects we are setting up at the prisons to ensure sustenance of the help we are currently giving toddlers in prison and their parents,” he said.
Yields of Love is a Christian trust which was set up with the aim of assisting prison inmates, their immediate families and ex-inmates.
Their programmes focus on enhancing the lives of prisoners by providing basic necessities, counselling of immediate families left by inmates, healthcare of inmates, rehabilitation through skills-training, re-integration into society and crime awareness campaigns.
