Archie Murumbi was also ordered to pay another $150 to Mubaiwa for the clothes he bought on account from her.

Harare magistrate, Audrey Tarugarira ruled in favour of Mubaiwa and ordered Murumbi to pay back the sum of $250 plus costs.

Mubaiwa told the court that sometime in 2010, she gave Murumbi $100 to pay for her electricity bill, but the latter never did. She also claimed that she supplied him with clothing items which he had not paid for since that time.

She further said Murumbi had been evading summons and running away from police.

“This man is a trickster and a liar too, he has been evading paying for the goods I supplied him,” she said.

Murumbi confirmed owing Mubaiwa, but disputed claims that he was evading her.

However, the court dismissed his defence and ordered him to pay back the money including legal costs.
