President Robert Mugabe at the weekend said he is worried at child marriage statistics, saying it was wrong to judge the maturity of a girl based on the development of her breasts.

Speaking at the official opening of the Child Parliament, Mugabe said statics indicate that one in four women aged 20 to 24 years were married while still children.

Child marriages are reportedly prevalent in Chikombedzi, Uzumba, Mudzi, Hwange, Mwenezi and Ngundu.
