KADOMA — A bursar at Kwayedza Secondary School at Patchway, Kadoma, has been convicted of defrauding the institution of over $7 000 through a scam that went undetected for over a year.

Colletta Zvimba appeared before magistrate Takudzwa Gwazemba on Tuesday facing 256 counts of fraud.
The a ccused, a single mother of two, was convicted on all 256 counts on her own guilty plea and was remanded to November 9 for sentence.
The State case was that between June 3 2014 and July 6 this year, Zvimba received varying amounts of tuition fee payments from various parents and guardians.
She would write the correct amounts received on the original receipt, but would then falsify the figures on the duplicate copy by under-receipting and pocketing the differences.

She, at one time, embezzled as little as $6.
The matter came to light following a forensic audit.
The school was prejudiced of $7 272 and nothing was recovered.
