BULAWAYO, Apr. 20 (NewsDay Live) – The police say they have arrested four suspects linked to a series of armed robberies in Masvingo Province.
Collen Gweme (28), Probit Njanjure (24), Gift Chibharo (28) and Farai Tazivarose (59), also known as “Chitichi”, are accused of orchestrating multiple robberies recorded between January and April 15, 2026.
Police said the incidents occurred in Triangle, Chiredzi and Mkwasine.
The arrests followed a public tip-off that connected the suspects to the crimes.
“The suspects were apprehended after receiving information linking them to the cases under investigation,” police said in a statement.
Authorities recovered a Nissan Caravan kombi, assorted groceries, three television sets, solar panels and inverters, a lithium battery, a submersible pump, 16 mobile phones, three bicycles and other electrical gadgets.

Police commended the public for supplying information leading to the arrests and urged continued cooperation in the fight against crime.
Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
