THE ZiG annual inflation rate fell by 11,1 percentage points to 82,7% for September, owing to a deceleration in the price of goods in local currency.
In August, the ZiG annual inflation rate was recorded at 93,8%.
Similarly, the US dollar annual inflation rate also improved, as it was recorded at 13,4% for September, from the 14,2% recorded in August.
The improvements can be attributed to the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe's artificially control of the exchange rate to maintain the value of the ZiG, which continues to render it volatile.
“The ZiG year-on-year inflation rate (annual percentage change) for the month of September 2025 as measured by the all-items ZiG Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 82,7%,” the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZimStat) said in its recently released inflation and trade data for September.
“This means that prices, as measured by the all-items ZiG CPI, increased by an average of 82,7% from September 2024 to September 2025.”
