VICE-President Constantine Chiwenga has claimed that the re-engagement process undertaken by government is bearing fruits as several British companies have started investing in Zimbabwe.
He made the remarks while addressing a rally in Victoria Falls, Matabeleland North province, yesterday.
“The British realised that they are now lagging, they came, and they now have mines here, but they are the ones who gave us sanctions. Engagement and re-engagement have been happening all along. They are now coming in numbers through the back door,” he said.
“The Zulu lithium company in Matabeleland South is a British company. We are building 30 hospitals countrywide through their money. So, this ‘goat’ that came here what was he talking about?”
Chiwenga made the remarks in reference to opposition Citizens Coalition for Change leader Nelson Chamisa.
He said prices went haywire after the proclamation of the elections date to create despondency in the country.

“This boy (Chamisa) who looks after goats came here and said if he loses election, he will refuse the outcome. Why did he enter the race if he knows that he is going to lose? Who is he? No one begged him to come and contest? Does he have a party? Where is his cabinet?” Chiwenga asked rhetorically while mocking Chamisa.
He claimed that Chamisa was a “traitor who wanted to take the country to the British colonisers”, saying the spirits of Ndebele kings such as Mzilikazi and Lobengula would not allow that to happen.
