Following the runaway success of her debut six-track studio album Hakuna Hondo two years ago, Gweru-based gospel musician Yeukai Mangwaza has revealed plans to release a second album.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Standard Style, Mangwaza said a follow-up project is long overdue, adding that fans should expect a surprise release soon after Easter.

The gospel singer said she has been working behind the scenes, spending time in and out of the studio laying the groundwork for the upcoming project.

“We are hoping to release our second album after Easter. Everything is now in place, and God’s unmerited favour has carried us through difficult moments without losing hope,” she said.

However, Mangwaza acknowledged that the project has faced delays due to rising production-related costs.

“It is unfortunate that the project has continued to suffer delays because of increasing indirect expenses associated with production. At the same time, as a breadwinner, my growing family depends on me to provide,” she added.

Mangwaza views her music as part of a divine calling, describing it as a mission to serve and spread the gospel.

“Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and everything shall be added unto you. The desires of my heart will come after the Lord’s work is fulfilled,” she said.

“It is a great commission for me to answer the call — to rejoice and praise in the house of the Almighty. As a believer, I will do all within my reach to ensure that the Word is spread to the uttermost parts of the world so that His name may be worshipped.”

The forthcoming album is expected to feature tracks such as Destiny, Denga, and Dai Tanamata, among others.

Mangwaza also revealed that she has since moved to GM Records following challenges with her previous producer.

“All we are seeking now is professional engagement that will help us deliver quality music,” she said.

Known to many as the “Mother of Nations,” Mangwaza continues to build a strong reputation in the gospel music scene.

She is widely respected for maintaining a disciplined and admirable public image, while inspiring young artists to uphold strong values.

Her growing catalogue includes her debut album Hakuna Hondo (2024), as well as the singles Ropa raJesu (2023) and Mirai Naye (2025).
