JERRISON Selemani's first half strike was enough to hand FC Platinum victory over hosts Chicken Inn in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter played at Luveve Stadium yesterday.

The goal that came in the 13th minute was all it took to separate the two sides.

Following the victory FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza still believes in pulling a miracle in this league race.

"The guys played some good football today. If you look at our performances, the first half was fantastic. I thought we were a little bit cagey in the opening minutes of the second half. With a little bit of luck Chicken Inn could have scored,” Mapeza said.

"After that we managed to control the tempo of the game again. We had some good opportunities, half chances. We could have killed the game. But well-done to the boys they did so well. In football you never give up, we are still hoping something will happen."

His opposite number Prince Matore was disappointed with the result.

"First half we were slow in the game. "We improved in the second half. We created some chances but we could not score and we lost the game," said Matore.

The visiting defending champions were the better of the two teams on the day. They managed to dominate possession and create more clear cut chances.
