Castle Lager Premier Soccer League giants Dynamos are set to give interim coach Genesis Mangombe the job on a full-time basis after an impressive run since he took over from Herbert Maruwa this season.
The former Yadah coach was promoted in August and has posted impressive figures since taking over what is probably the country's hottest coaching job.
Out of seven matches he has been in charge, Dynamos have lost just once, drew twice and won three times.
The game against Highlanders was abandoned in the 39th minute when Dynamos were comfortably leading 2-0.
DeMbare have reached the semifinals of the Chibuku Super Cup where they play Caps United.
A member of the club's executive told NewsDay Sport that a contract has already been prepared for Mangombe.
“He has done enough to get the job,” the source said.
“The paperwork is almost done and negotiations with the coach will begin soon. The club is happy, and we are ready to offer him a two-year contract with the hope that he can lead this group of players to the league title during that time. Even if he fails to win the league this year, the decision has already been made. Everyone including the supporters are happy with how he has transformed the team. We are playing good football and we feel we can only improve."

Despite Mangombe's success since taking over, there was speculation Dynamos would look elsewhere for a full-time boss, with a number of European coaches including Serbian Kosta Papic, linked with the job.
“Mangombe has proved that he is a good coach and there is no reason to look for someone else. He managed to beat Caps United and Highlanders so what else can he possibly do to get the job? Beating those teams on its own is enough to get this job and he passed that test brilliantly, so winning the title this season will be a bonus for us. But that doesn't mean he can relax, we still need the league title this year. We still believe it can be done,” the DeMbare executive member added.
Dynamos' chances of winning the league, however, got complicated on Thursday when they were held to a frustrating goalless draw away at Triangle, as the Harare giants fell further behind in the race.
Playing a day after title rivals FC Platinum and log leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars won their respective matches on Wednesday, the Harare giants needed to win to keep within touching distance of the pacesetters.
But they just could not break down a resilient Triangle side despite bossing the game and creating the better of the chances.
