Businessman and miner Collins Takunda Mnangagwa has been recognised for his contribution to socio-economic transformation and community empowerment after receiving the Leadership in Socio-Economic Development and Community Empowerment accolade at the Community Builders in Africa Awards held in Harare on Friday.

The latest recognition comes barely a week after Mnangagwa received another award from the Chartered Institute of Project Management Zimbabwe, reflecting growing acknowledgement of his leadership in business development, project governance and community-centred initiatives.

Mnangagwa, who leads a diversified group with interests in mining, logistics and energy, was commended for driving strategic growth while promoting initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods in communities.

Speaking after the awards ceremony, stakeholders praised his leadership approach, which combines commercial expansion with developmental interventions targeting disadvantaged and marginalised communities.

Over the years, the business executive has overseen projects that have contributed to job creation, local economic development and targeted social support programmes in various communities.

His leadership has also been associated with stakeholder engagement initiatives designed to ensure that community assistance programmes address practical social and economic needs.

Organisers of the Community Builders in Africa Awards said the platform seeks to celebrate leaders championing excellence, innovation, social responsibility and sustainable development across the continent.

The double recognition is being viewed as a reflection of Mnangagwa’s growing influence in both the corporate and community development spheres.
