Zimbabwean dancehall artiste Jah Farai delivered a memorable performance at PaTawaz Social Place in Harare’s central business district on Friday night.
Scores of reggae and dancehall music lovers who thronged the venue were treated to an energetic and polished performance by the popular musician.
Jah Farai, who is currently riding high with patriotic songs celebrating Zimbabwe’s beauty and culture, received overwhelming support from fans throughout the show.
Speaking on the sidelines of the performance, the artiste expressed excitement at becoming the first musician to perform at the newly established entertainment venue.
“I am so happy to be the first artiste to perform at this famous venue. We know PaTawaz Social Place is now one of the biggest entertainment spots in town, so I would like to thank the owner, Tawanda Chisasa, popularly known as Honourable Tawaz, for inviting me here,” said Jah Farai.
The musician also revealed that he is currently on a nationwide tour promoting his music.
Meanwhile, Honourable Tawaz said his passion for music motivates him to support local artistes through his business ventures.
“I am a musician too, so as a businessman I believe it is important to promote local talent. We also want to keep our revellers entertained, and as PaTawaz Social Place we are not stopping here — more entertainment activities are coming,” he said.
Music producer Maselo, who attended the event, applauded Honourable Tawaz for creating opportunities for fellow artistes.
“Honourable Tawaz has shown that music runs in his blood by allowing Jah Farai to perform at his venue. We hope to see more artistes coming here,” said Maselo.
The successful show further cemented PaTawaz Social Place as one of Harare’s emerging entertainment destinations.
