My Dear People,
THE signature by the Scarfed One of the law that pillages the constitution to extend his leadership tenure to beyond 2028 without the niceties of elections, has sounded a death knell to democracy.
The passing into law of the amendment has exposed the feigned reluctance by Scarfmore to cling tenaciously to power for the hogwash that it always was.
The amendments not only extend the vapid leadership of Scarfmore, which has been characterised by failed currencies, company closures, alarming levels of corruption, job losses and entrenched poverty, but has also taken away the citizen’s rights to vote for their president.
That it has left that responsibility to a bastardised parliament which consists of charlatans disguised as opposition only emphasises the depth of deception and scandal of these amendments.
The amendments that entrench the rule of this dispensation of poverty, darkness and confusion, will only worsen the levels of poverty in the country and further stuff the pockets of the filthy rich tenderprenuers, who feast upon inflated contracts at the expense of the impoverished majority, only to throw breadcrumbs to a few desperate citizens disguised as charity.
I will resist the temptation to remind fellow Zimbabweans, who danced wildly in the streets celebrating the propelling of this coup cabal by guns and tanks, that I had warned them that nothing good would come out of this so called second repubric.
For all of Gushungo’s shortcomings, most of which were grossly exaggerated, it was nothing compared to this lot which has combined the deadly cocktail of greed and incompetence to reduce the country to a banana republic.
Munopengaaa!!!
The disastrous impact of the constitutional manipulation brought about by selfish interests will not only be keenly felt by the country’s citizens but also by neighbouring countries.
The likes of South Africa which has kicked out thousands of illegal Zimbabwean immigrants, will soon again be swamped by thousands of Zimbabweans who will risk swimming crocodile infested rivers to seek greener pastures south of the Limpopo.
Already scores of Zimbabweans are going to Zambia to seek healthcare as a result of the neglect of the country’s health sector by the regime that has turned public hospitals into death traps.
The extension of the vapid leadership of Scarfmore and co will embolden even those Zimbabweans who have been expelled from South Africa to return as poverty created by this inept regime and its scorched earth policies worsens.
In failing to rein in the excesses of Scarfmore and co, it will only foment a crisis that could further stoke xenophobia within the region. Mark my words.
Munopengaaa!!!
The gazetting of the Medical Services Act which obligates private health institutions to admit any patient with a life-threatening emergency for at least 48 hours to stabilise them before transfer, even if the patient cannot afford care is a clear admission of failure by the Scarfmore regime when it comes to the health sector.
After turning public hospitals into death traps due to gross underfunding of the sector, the regime now wants to burden private hospitals with its dismal failure of providing healthcare.
This will undoubtedly lead to further deterioration of health care as private hospitals will be swamped by thousands of patients seeking healthcare for free which will have serious implications for the viability of theses private health institutions.
Not content with destroying public health institutions, the incompetent regime is now threatening the last bastion of decent healthcare available to the country’s citizens.
The clause in the law that allows the minister to request private facilities to provide specialist services for public emergency patients during public crises is open to abuse as the minister can use it for the treatment of their cronies and relatives.
The issue of cost recovery particularly with the State will offer scant consolation for private hospitals, given the regime’s penchant for delaying payment for services rendered.
Is this what Health minister Dougie meant when he declared that there will soon be free health for all? Instead of coming with these daft policies the regime should just invest in fixing up public hospitals.
Using the country’s revenue to fund healthcare instead of buying state of the art vehicles for chiefs or building villas would ensure that the regime does not resort to such foolish measures. I am not holding my breath that common sense will prevail with this lot.
Munopengaaa!!!
Kudos to legendary musician Thomas Mapfumo who has flatly rejected the offer by the burly ex-convict Weaknail to pay him US$500 000 to perform at musician Jah Prayzah’s rumoured wedding or US$1 million to perform at his birthday bash.
In a scathing rebuttal, Mapfumo advised Weaknail to instead use the money to fix the country’s dilapidated roads and ensure decent healthcare for the county’s citizens adding that he would not benefit from stolen loot.
Unfortunately Mapfumo is in a class of very few in refusing the largesse( no pun intended) of the voluble tenderpreneur.
This must be a shock to him that not everyone will worship the ground he walks on for a few pennies. The rejection of the offer shows that there is still a modicum of integrity, no matter how small, that still exists.
Munopengaaaaaaa
