As the world continues to battle with the effects of climate change, scientists and engineers have continued to offer the world with cutting edge technologies, which are smart, energy efficient and reliable to the consumer. 

Solar mini-grids have been built across the continent's marginalised rural areas, and they have assisted small scale farmers to continue feeding their communities through smart farming derived from smart solar power. 

As the environmental experts also warn of land degradation for the construction of solar farms, a new method of protecting the ecosystem has been found through new technologies. 

The goal is to achieve zero emissions at the same time  saving the planet. Every tree destroyed is equivalent to 20 human deaths, this ratio represents the importance of saving human lives through the  protection of our environment. 

Hydro kinetic power generation: The new smart green energy  

Not every energy efficiency solution can be 100 percent, however every time we hear the word 'hydro', our minds will be turned  into a visual mode of large hydro power generation dams like Lake Kariba, but in this case a new technology has been put into the market. 

Before I go into the specifications and details of this technology, Zimbabwe had a similar technology through Chikumbutso, which was not accepted in the market, I still believe Chikumbutso’s   smart generators should also be incorporated amongst the world’s best smart energy innovations. 

Hydro kinetic generators  are the smartest and best because they retain the same principles of force  produced by magnetic fields,which use the mechanical mechanical force i.e motor, and the alternator to produce electrical energy. This “hybrid kinetic generator” generates  energy thanks to  “Faraday's law” which states that, if a conductor passes through a magnetic field, a voltage will be induced in the conductor. 

The enhanced magnetic generator basically "magnifies" the input power 2, 3, or even 5x. The input power can be derived from many sources including batteries, solar, wind , grid power and many more. The hydro kinetic technology  operates on the principles of energy efficiency to produce power on demand. 

Basic configuration 

The basic configuration is a 3 phase" off the shelf" motor directly connected to  the enhance generator. The input power is calculated by  Power= Torque ×RPM, therefore if the remains the same to the generator, then as you increase the rpm of the motor, then more power is delivered to the Generator. Some of the output power is fed back into  powering the motor and the rest( net power) is delivered to the Load. 

The intelligence of hydro magnetic and kinetic technology   

The hydro kinetic and magnetic generator delivers continuous , clean electricity day and night, independent of the grid. This system has been patented so that nobody can actually know how it works, even as I discuss on it I will also stick to its benefits, and how it operates. For every 40ft container, one can produce 5MW of power. Yes I mean 5MW of electricity from a 40ft container. This technology saves not only space, but it's also easy to install and maintain. 

An installed capacity of 250MW hydro kinetic system is (electrical to mechanical) whereas  solar  is 250MW (DC). 

Average factor of hydro kinetic is ~60-96% (constant flow available) whereas average capacity for solar is~20% (varied by region) 

Estimated average output for hydro kinetic: 175MW (250 ×0.70 avg) 

Daily Generation (kWh) 4,200,000 kWh/ day 

Annual Generation of ~1,533 GWh 

Operating hours per day: 24/7 operation. 

Land / water footprint: <2 hectares of land. 

System life span: ~30-50 years. 

This system is clearly designed to save environmental impacts., at the same time it provides room for scalability. 

The total time required to install a 250MW  hydro kinetic and magneticplant is max six months and yet solar takes 18 to 24 months. 

In terms of land size, a 250MW of solar power plant will require 600 to 900 hectares of land. 

As we continue to look into energy efficiency alternatives globally., the use for hydro kinetic and magnetic generators is the best way as it can power gated communities, Industries, mines.
