What are you in need of today? What miracle are you expecting? Or have you given up? Are you no longer anticipating anything good to come out of your life? Expectation is the birthing place for miracles. The Bible declares that the expectation of the righteous will not be cut off. It does not matter how unrealistic the desire is. The Bible guarantees that the expectation of the righteous will not be cut off. Rahab had heard testimonies of the victories of the children of Israel and of the power of their God. She knew her safety was only guaranteed if she joined herself to them (Joshua 2:1-24, Joshua 6:22-25, Hebrews 11:31).

Expectation grows from the information you have about what you desire to possess. Rahab had information about Israel and she wanted her family and herself to be safe when Israel fought her nation. She had information and acted upon it because desire alone without action does not yield results. Your level of action or commitment towards your desire shows the depth of your expectation. Many have information, but not many are willing to act out their faith. James 2:14 (KJV), “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith and have not works? Can faith save him?”

Faith alone without corresponding action is dead. Many people have expectations but not so many act to produce what they expect. Unless you move, your situation will remain the same. When a woman is expecting, she develops cravings for different types of foods and her appetite grows. What she is carrying drives her appetite. What are you expecting and are you yielding to the cravings of that thing?

It is time to pursue with passion that thing you are anticipating to receive. Blind Bartimaeus was sitting by the roadside begging when he heard that Jesus was passing nearby, (note that he already knew Jesus was able to change his situation) he did not consider the crowd.

Many overlook how loud he had to shout in order to get Jesus’ attention. When He heard him, he called him and asked a very strange question, “What do you want?” Why would Jesus ask such a question when he could see that the man was blind. Jesus wanted the man to define his desire.

Bartimaeus had information and he acted upon that information to define his desire before he could receive his miracle (Mark 10:46-52). Action produces, but one’s action must be defined (guided). When Bartimaeus defined his desire and said he wanted to see, immediately he began to see. The Bible says, immediately the man who was blind began to see. His miracle was birthed from his expectation.

I don’t know what you are expecting today but what I do know is what the Bible proposes (declares, commands) when it says your expectation will not be cut off. From today I want you to practise these three things (1) Gather as much information as you can about that thing you desire and also know nothing is beyond God’s abilities. (2) Act on what you desire; remember faith without works is dead. (3) Finally, define your desires. Don’t assume that God knows what you’re going through or what you want, you have to define those desires.

These three steps will help you manifest those expectations you have.

God bless you.
