VICE-President Kembo Mohadi’s son has been accused of evicting five more farmers from the contested Arnold Farm in Mazowe, Mashonaland Central province.

The evictions marked the latest in a series of removals after 21 families were previously forced out under controversial circumstances.

According to documents in our possession, the five families were evicted last Tuesday following a three-day notice issued by the messenger of court under case number HC/H242/26.

A removal notice citing Mafenyadira Mohadi stated that the settlers were unlawfully occupying subdivision 4 of Arnold Farm in Mazowe.

One of the affected families confirmed that they were forced out and now have nowhere to go.

“These are the latest in a wave of evictions since last year," said one villager.

"This time, five families were removed from their homes.

"The messenger of court destroyed the houses, razing them to the ground.

"They wanted to move us to the nearest roadside, but we refused."

The displaced families were left exposed to the rain with no shelter.

“We have nowhere else to go after the eviction and are stranded," added another villager.

"We are in the open, and our belongings are unprotected from the ongoing rains.

Other sources revealed thag the eviction came as a surprise.

The notice was delivered on January 31, 2026, and enforced by February 4.

Sources said Mohadi’s son has never communicated directly with the settlers.

“Everything is done through court papers as he forces everyone out," sources said.

"Last year, he evicted 21 families and blocked the wells that provided clean, portable water.

“Those evicted were left stranded along the Harare–Bindura highway."

Mafenyadira was not reachable for comment.

The villagers have had several confrontations with Mafenyadira since 2024.

In one incident, their belongings were burnt, and the case was taken to court.

In the latest development, villagers had been served eviction notices warning that their property will be demolished if they do not vacate.

“It is in your interest to be present on the above date, especially in the case of eviction, to enable you to take possession of your personal belongings. Should you fail to be present, we shall proceed to execute the warrant in your absence,” a notice from the sheriff of Zimbabwe warned

A letter from Mafenyadira’s lawyers to the sheriff, dated January 29, added: "In our previous instruction of September 18, 2025, we instructed you to proceed to Subdivision 4 of the remainder of Arnold Farm, Mazowe, measuring 110.80 hectares, and eject the 1st to 11th respondents.

"You were further instructed to demolish all structures on the property. We are advised that some structures remain. We instruct you to demolish the remaining structures.”

Villagers have previously accused Mafenyadira of using state security agents to intimidate them into leaving.

In March 2017, police forcibly evicted villagers from Arnold Farm, demolishing homes and destroying crops to establish a national monument and expand business interests linked to former first lady Grace Mugabe.

The eviction was later halted by a High Court order barring her from taking the land.

Last year, riot police were called to disperse protesting villagers who carried placards accusing Mohadi’s son of using his political connections to intimidate them.
