JULIA NDLELA THE Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (Zimdef) has once again lost another lawsuit after challenging the High Court who stopped Tano Digital Solutions from executing its contract with the quasi-governmental institution.
This was after Zimdef had published a tender with restrictive conditions, which were unfair and allegedly meant to bar some bidders who have good track records.
Pan-African software and technology firm Twenty Third Century Systems (TTCS) challenged this restrictive clause and appealed to the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Praz) for the clause to be removed.
However, before the hearing, Zimdef illegally awarded the tender to Tano Digital Solutions.
TTCS appealed to the High Court and appeared before Justice Owen Tagu seeking an interdict to stop Tano Digital from executing the award until its case was heard at Praz.
Tano was stopped from executing the award.

Zimdef appealed against Judge Tagu’s judgment and once again the High Court ruled that the parastatal had acted illegally by awarding Tano the contract.
The matter was heard on May 19 by Justice Alphas Chitakunye, who said: “After reading documents filed on record, it is ordered that: The matter is struck off the roll”.
