After a break of two years, BuildEx Harare is back in 2026 with a three-day staging of Zimbabwe’s premier exhibition focused on construction, design, property, home innovation and lifestyle.

Last held in March 2024, the 2026 expo will feature a range of exhibits, events and activities that platform current build and design capacity in Zimbabwe, along with an infusion of innovation, ideas, creativity and international influence.

The event will take place at the Golden Conifer events venue in Harare from July 17 to 19, 2026.

Organiser of the expo Paul Cohen said the “key focus this year is to maintain or even expand the size, variety and impact of the expo, as well as to increase visitor numbers now that the event is a regular feature on the Harare lifestyle calendar”.

“Moving beyond being a simple platform for a dynamic and growing industry, we are creating complementary entertainment and leisure activities that will appeal to the wider public and will add value to the core of the event,” Cohen, who is also the coordinator of the expo and its complementary or support activities, said.

He said the 2024 expo showed the need for an event of this kind in Zimbabwe, allowing for suppliers of goods and services across a wide range of areas of endeavour to showcase their offering to Zimbabwe and beyond.

“To add value and to attract a wider public interest we shall be adding a number of innovations to this year’s event, enhancing the lifestyle aspect of its role and engaging with consumers looking not only for information and education but also for entertainment and social interaction in their visits to BuildEx,” he said.

“As a hybrid event, our focus themes this year will be a mix of interests: construction meets lifestyle; smart home technology gets a platform; sustainability and green design gain emphasis and a family-friendly environment is created by the adjunctive social and entertainment activities.”

Feedback from 2024 had been positive and highlighted that it had been a successful start for the BuildEx brand, but the organisers felt focus should in future be given to increasing visitor numbers through greater awareness and through setting up a series of visitor-friendly attractions over and above the core expo.

“In coming weeks, we shall roll out the planned programme as we finalise exhibitors and add the various complementary activities, but for now our initial thrust is to announce the dates and make sure the target business communities are aware of BuildEx 2026 and come on board.”
