TWO potentially exciting mid-week Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matches are set for Barbourfields Stadium, with Bulawayo Chiefs hosting Dynamos tomorrow, while Highlanders entertain MWOS this afternoon.
Bulawayo Chiefs, known for upsetting league giants before their 2024 relegation, have made a strong return. They drew with Highlanders at Barbourfields in their opening match and beat newcomers Agama at Wadzanayi over the weekend. The Ninjas have accumulated four points ahead of tomorrow’s clash.
Coach John Nyikadzino is bracing for a tough encounter against Dynamos.
“With the way the team is performing, I’m very happy. We know it won’t be easy, but we are prepared for the game. I assess every match by looking at the players, their tactics, and their overall game plan. I watched them play against Highlanders on Sunday, and I can see an improvement compared to the last time they faced Highlanders in the Jairos Jiri Cup,” he said.
Dynamos, under coach Genesis Mangombe, also have four points after edging TelOne 2-1 at Ascot Stadium in Gweru and drawing 2-2 with Highlanders at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
Both Highlanders and Dynamos drew large crowds on Sunday, and a similar turnout is expected at Barbourfields this week despite the unfriendly weather.

Highlanders, guided by new coach Benjani Mwaruwari, have dropped four points in their first two games, drawing with both Bulawayo Chiefs and Dynamos.
Their opponents this afternoon, the Punters of Norton (MWOS), are still chasing their first win of the season. They played a goalless draw against Hunters in their opening match and followed it with a 1-1 stalemate against TelOne at Ngoni Stadium. The Lloyd Mutasa-coached side will be hoping to build on last year’s success, when they beat Highlanders both home and away.
