Four men have appeared before the Bulawayo regional magistrates’ court facing armed robbery charges following an alleged plot to steal money from Old Nic Mine.

Andile Mlilo (31), Thobani Dlodlo (47), Content Mguni (49) and Langathani Mlalazi (34) appeared before Bulawayo regional magistrate Mark Dzira facing armed robbery charges.

The four were not asked to plead and were further remanded in custody.

The court heard that in June last year, the suspected armed robbers planned on executing a robbery at Old Nic Mine.

Mlilo and Dlodlo, employed as security guards at the mine, received information about an impending cash delivery and passed it on to their co-accused.

It is alleged that on the day in question, at around 1pm, Mguni and Mlalazi, together with accomplices identified as Charles Nyandaro and Andile, proceeded to the mine armed with an unidentified firearm.
