CANADA-BASED and Zimbabwe-born musician Aurah Ariko is basking in the glory of her latest projects – an album titled The Gift and a video titled Oh Baby.

Based in Edmonton, the capital city of the province of Alberta, Aurah had been singing since the age of six.

Her latest productions are a blend of R ‘n’ B as well as traditional African sound and melodies.

The album The Gift comprises of seven tracks — Oh Baby, Kufema, Back to our Love, Misodzi, Ngoma, Rima and Unondifunga.

The single Oh Baby, which features Oozeela has a video that is already trending on online music platforms, including video sharing platform YouTube.

Her previous production titled Stay, put to the fore issues such as domestic violence and abusive relationships.

“My goal is to make a positive impact in people’s lives through music,” Aurah said.

“I want to contribute to society through thought and positive self-expression of music.

“Music has brought healing in my life as well as a tremendous amount of personal growth. My hope is that my music will do the same to others.”

Aurah has shared the stage with international artistes such as Burna Boy and Wizkid.

“I can sing from any place I am given the stage, from singing in the church choir to headlining international artistes such Burna Boy and Wizkid,” she said.

“As musicians, we draw inspiration from the environment and life experiences so this important that it is displayed in my artistic endevours.”
