BULAWAYO, Aug. 5, (Southern Eye Live)- Zimbabwe is hosting its inaugural Labour and Employment Summit in Bulawayo, bringing together government, trade unionists, employers and development partners to discuss policy reforms, innovation and practical solutions to the country's labour market challenges.
The four-day summit, organised by the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, is running from Tuesday to Friday at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Hall 2.
Held under the theme, "Building Better Jobs: Advancing Employment, Green Jobs and Skills Development under NDS2," the inaugural summit focuses on creating sustainable employment opportunities, promoting environmentally friendly jobs and strengthening skills development in line with the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2).
Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare minister Edgar Moyo will officially open the summit Thursday.
"Discussions at the summit centre on labour policies, job creation, workplace innovation, green jobs, skills development and strategies to promote decent work and sustainable employment," the ministry said.

The event is expected to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders and contribute to policy measures aimed at improving Zimbabwe's labour market.
