Bulawayo, Jul 20 (Southern Eye Live) -A non-profit organisation called Ubuntu has donated goods worth thousands of dollars to the heroes' dependants to uplift their standard of living.

Speaking at the handover ceremony today, Ubuntu representative Lungile Christopher Siphambili said: “The purpose of this event is to share the little that we have. The cause of this organisation is the Ministry of  Veterans of the Liberation Struggle, it's very dear to me.”

Heroes Dependants Assistance Board chair Beauty Sibanda commended Ubuntu for its benevolence.

“This donation is not merely a collection of soap and detergents. It is a symbol of compassion, solidarity and recognition that the families of those who sacrificed for our nation's freedom continue to deserve our collective support,’’ Sibanda said.

She revealed that the Heroes Dependants Assistance Board derives its mandate from the National Heroes Act to mobilise resources for liberation war heroes' families.
