BEITBRIDGE, Jul 17, (Southern Eye Live) - Clever Makwarimba (53) from Zvishavane man has been sentenced to an effective four years in prison for possession of nearly 20 kilogrammes of dagga along the Beitbridge–Masvingo Highway.
The court heard that police detectives acting on a tip-off intercepted Makwarimba at the 81-kilometre peg along the Beitbridge–Masvingo Highway early this month and recovered eight large cobs of dagga weighing a total of 19.49 kilogrammes from him.
National Prosection Authority of Zimbabwe in a statement said the proliferation of dangerous drugs remains a serious threat to society and warned those involved in illegal drug trade that they would face the full wrath of the law.
