BULAWAYO, Jul 16 (Southern Eye Live) E – Three men from Chief Mtshane's area in Inyathi have been sentenced to three years in prison each after they fatally assaulted their nephew. Mzimkhulu Mthombeni (44), Masotsha Mthombeni (49), and Obert Mthombeni (66), were convicted of culpable homicide following the death of Dumisani Nunu (27) on July 4，2025. According to court records, Nunu had assaulted two women while drunk. In retaliation, the three men tied him up and repeatedly assaulted him, leaving him for dead. Nunu later succumbed to the assault injuries. Although the trio denied intending to kill him, the court ruled that their negligent conduct directly resulted in his death. Each was sentenced to five years imprisonment, with two years suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour.
