Rising Zimdancehall musician Irvine Ndlovu, popularly known as Mr Eyes, has released a new single titled Tamba Uchidai, a track that transforms personal struggles into a celebration of resilience and hope.
Released on July 11, the song blends infectious rhythms with an uplifting message, reflecting the artist’s determination to overcome adversity while entertaining his growing fan base.
Mr Eyes said he ventured into dancehall after recognising that many of his supporters enjoy the genre.
“I was just experimenting with dancehall music because most of my fans enjoy that sound,” he said.
“I believe they will love the vibe this song brings.”
The track’s origins were unexpected.

Rather than being written in a studio, Tamba Uchidai emerged during a live performance when the musician improvised a freestyle that instantly resonated with the crowd.
“It started as a freestyle at one of my live shows,” he said.
“The response from the audience made me think more deeply about it, so I went back and developed the lyrics into a complete song.”
Mr Eyes revealed that some of the lyrics were inspired by emotional challenges he has faced, including false rumours that claimed he had died.
“I have encountered emotional challenges. Some of the lyrics are true because they were inspired by fake rumours about my death,” he said.
Instead of allowing those experiences to discourage him, the musician channelled them into a message of perseverance and optimism.
“To me, Tamba Uchidai represents resilience through thick and thin. I believe my breakthrough is coming, and the song is also about finding happiness,” he said.
The release marks another step in the artist’s musical evolution as he continues experimenting with different sounds while staying true to his artistic identity.
“I am improving my career, and I am proud to be able to engage in different dynamics of music. I always want to challenge myself creatively,” he said.
Mr Eyes intentionally released the single over the weekend, hoping music lovers looking for fresh entertainment would help drive streams and introduce the song to a wider audience.
Mr Eyes hopes the song will not only get people dancing but also inspire listeners to remain hopeful in the face of adversity.
