New allegations of sexual abuse have emerged against recently jailed Kwekwe socialite, Rangarirai Blessing Mutangi, who was recently convicted on several counts of rape, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault.

Barely a fortnight after Kwekwe regional magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa convicted Mutangi and sentenced him to an effective 75 years in prison for child sexual abuse, a new sexual offence has been reported against the sex offender.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko yesterday confirmed the sex abuse report.

“On May 8, 2026 after the news of the sentence filtered to the public yet another report of an alleged sexual abuse on a six-year-old by the same convict was received,” Mahoko said.

“The case is now under investigation and we once again advise parents and guardians of children to closely monitor them when they are playing as well as teaching them to report (sexual offences).

Mugwagwa convicted and sentenced Mutangi to a lengthy effective 75 years prison term after a full trial.

The sexual offences involved five boys and one girl aged between nine and 12 and took place between December 2025 and April 2026.

According to the prosecution Mutangi used his role as a barber and modelling trainer to lure the children to his room where he would threaten them, show them pornographic videos before being intimate with the minors.

The cases came to light on April 19 after two of the victims revealed the matter to their parents.
