SOUTH Korean ambassador to Zimbabwe, Jae Kyung Park, has pledged continued co-operation with Zimbabwe in the health, education and agricultural sectors following a visit to Nkulumane Clinic in Bulawayo.
Park toured the clinic to assess the impact of US$110 000 worth of donated medical equipment and a vehicle, which are enhancing healthcare delivery in the city. The visit coincided with the official opening of the 66th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo last week.
The ambassador’s visit highlighted how South Korean support is strengthening Bulawayo’s primary healthcare system, with donated equipment having been distributed across the city clinics and the vehicle supporting mobile health outreach programmes.
In a statement, Park said the visit was aimed at gaining first-hand insight into the local health situation and evaluating how the donated equipment was improving access to healthcare services.
“The equipment was distributed across the city’s clinics in a bid to improve the delivery of health services in Bulawayo. My country will continue prioritising co-operation in the health, education and agricultural sectors while closing gaps where possible,” Park said.
He added that the equipment significantly improved service delivery.
