Masvingo-based musician Innocent Tshuma has released seven music videos from his album New Chapter, marking a significant milestone in his musical journey.

The 14-track album, launched on October 3 last year, blends a variety of genres including love, gospel, celebration, and cultural music, showcasing Tshuma’s versatility as an artist.

The project features a diverse lineup of collaborators such as Chipo Muchegwa, Everhtee, Jamaica-based Nafty Cole, Vee Chang Chii, Trymore Bande, and Tryford Makumbe of the Makumbe Brothers.

Tshuma said the title New Chapter reflects personal growth and transformation.

“This is one of my best albums because I managed to reach big studios around the world and collaborate with top national artists like Chipo Muchegwa and Trymore Bande. It truly marks a new chapter in my life — I am moving to another level,” he said.

The album has received strong public support, with three songs making it onto radio charts. Gomborero is currently featured on the YA FM Top Chart, Makufeeler Sei is on the Hevoi FM Top Chart, and Zvese Ndezvako, featuring Chipo Muchegwa, is among the most played songs on Radio Zimbabwe.

Tshuma added that the positive reception reflects growing national recognition of his music.

“The audience has embraced the album, and the response since the launch has been overwhelming,” he said.

Some of the tracks have also gained traction online, with Ndinodiwa, featuring Trymore Bande and the Gomborero video trending on YouTube.

The musician said the album is deeply personal, drawing from his own life experiences and transformation. Through his music, he aims to inspire listeners to persevere and pursue their dreams.

Songs such as Tinoenda Mberi featuring Tryford Makumbe encourage resilience, while Zvese Ndezvako and Makufeeler Sei highlight the importance of maintaining relationships during difficult times.

Tshuma also addresses social issues, including the fight against domestic violence, in songs like Ndinodiwa and Paunochema featuring Everhtee. Additionally, the track Nhaka promotes the importance of preserving inheritance for future generations.

With multiple videos now released and growing airplay across radio stations, New Chapter signals Tshuma’s rising influence on Zimbabwe’s music scene.
