A 30-year-old Bulawayo man, Darlington Ngwenya of Cowdray Park, has been sentenced to 24 months in prison for having sex with minor aged 14 years.
Western Commonage magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube, suspended six months of the sentence for five years on condition of good behaviour.
Ngwenya will spent an effective 18 months behind bars.
Prosecutor Tafara Dzimbanhete told the court that Ngwenya and the minor had a romantic relationship.
He said on March 3, at around 8pm, Ngwenya called the girl and arranged to meet.
The court heard that the two went to a nearby maize field near Magadzire in Cowdray Park, where the offence was committed.
