Highlanders Football Club are heading into a new era buoyed by fresh investment and renewed belief, with players and technical staff set to enjoy the comfort of a newly donated luxury bus on an upcoming pre-season tour of Malawi.
The bus, bought and handed over by businessman Wicknell Chivayo, was officially presented to the Bulawayo giants on Tuesday at a ceremony presided over by Vice-President Kembo Mohadi, marking another significant boost for the club ahead of the new season.
The Malawi tour, which is expected to feature friendly matches and team-building activities, comes as Bosso seek to put behind them a turbulent 2025 campaign that saw the club narrowly avoid relegation and finish 11th after a transfer ban and disrupted pre-season preparations.
Optimism has returned to Emagumeni following the appointment of former Warriors captain Benjani Mwaruwari as head coach, a move that coincided with a US$300 000 kit sponsorship injection aimed at stabilising and rebuilding the squad.
The tour could also provide a platform for new signings, with a 30-man squad expected to travel as the technical team assesses combinations ahead of the domestic season.
