LEADER of the Johane The Fifth of Africa International Church, Archbishop Andby Makururu, has continued his 'philanthropic' work by empowering two Zanu PF affiliates in Bulawayo with poultry and other supplies.
Makururu donated 2,000 chicks to the Women in Global Markets against Poverty 4ED (WIGMAP 4ED) in Bulawayo Metropolitan, and also handed over carpentry materials to the Born Free 4ED group.
Nancy Madzivire, the provincial chairlady for the WIGMAP 4ED Bulawayo chapter, applauded Makururu for the donation of the chicks. She said Makururu is their patron.
"This goes a long way in empowering us as women," she said.
"This is not the first time he has helped us; our patron is always with us," she added.
Madzivire is also a member of the J5 church, as it is affectionately known.

Born Free 4ED Bulawayo provincial chairperson Sinqobile Nomsa Sibanda also applauded Makururu for the gesture.
"He has donated carpentry items for us, which we are going to sell. I am not in a position to disclose the quantities because more is coming," Sibanda said.
Born Free is a tag associated with people born in and after 1980, following the protracted liberation struggle of the 1970s.
WIGMAP 4ED is a recognised grassroots economic empowerment affiliate of the ruling Zanu PF party. The affiliate focuses on poverty alleviation through various skills development programmes.
