Title: Requited Affections

Poet: Fortunes Munsaka

If I glued around my heart a tempered glass,
Would fake love window shop for my heart which is still tender?

If I painted us a better tomorrow ahead,
Would you put on sandals of patience till we grow up together?

In your soul, I see from afar a rainbow after the rain- showers,
Would this be a coupon to my happiness Darling?

You said your love was a budding rose amongst the lilies,
Will I be a drone to suck from your nectar after we wed?

I know for now bankruptcy is a wagon in my world of austerity,
But the clouds will sooner develop legs and start striding away.
