The Chegutu District Pool Association {CDPA} has warned that it would read the riot act to would-be violators of player transfer regulations during the current window period.
The player transfer and registration process for the 2026 season closes on 10th January 2026 with the CDPA sporting activities (season) bursting into life on Saturday, January 17.
“As we are currently in the transfer window, we remind all players and clubs that transfers are permitted, provided the correct procedures are followed. To initiate a transfer, players must notify their current club executive of their intention to move to another club.
“They must ensure that they are financially clear with their club and must obtain a transfer from the current club, which must be presented to the new club,” said King Sozz, Vice Chairman of CDPA to all the clubs.
King Sozz said that when the transfer window closes, clubs are reminded to submit an updated team card to the Executive Committee of CDPA.
“It is a serious offence for a club to recruit a player from another club without proper documentation, including a transfer letter. Players who transfer without following these procedures may face disciplinary action. We urge all clubs to ensure that they follow these procedures to avoid any issues,” said King Sozz.
Meanwhile, Blessing Tinashe Gura, Chairman of CDPA has confirmed that their association has so far received finalised agreements of participation from 12 affiliated clubs for the 2026 season with the possibility of getting an additional four or more teams as registration is still in progress.
So far, clubs Simad, Chegutu Vipers, Katsekere, CBD Kings, Maoni, Railton, Rays, Congo Dust, Achill-05, Council, Redroof and KwaSoko have already registered for the 2026 league season.
In other news, Mbadakadzi Pirates, a recently assembled Chegutu Pool Ladies Select lifted the first prize at the Mash Best Clubs Gala at Ishava Ranch more than three back.
For the Champions League, CDPA has decided to dispatch CBD Kings and Rays Pool club to represent their district.
Since the third and fourth placed clubs left the league owing to logistical challenges in their respective camps, CDPA has resolved that Mbada Pirates, their Select squad of male players take the third slot at the Champions league that is slated for 13-14 December 2025 at a venue to be advised.
CDPA is confident with the pedigree of the male Select Mbada Pirates that it will pocket black with aplomb as it is branded with attributes of a leopard.
A leopard’s hunt is a stealthy and calculated process where it creeps up on prey using cover and shadows. It pounces from close range, aiming for the neck or throat, followed by a swift bite to suffocate or sever the spinal cord.
Leopards are experts at sneaking up undetected and with their agility, they can jump up to six meters horizontally. With their powerful jaws and sharp claws, they are ensured of a quick kill..
