BULAWAYO CHIEFS.......... (0)2

DYNAMOS..............................(0)1

BULAWAYO Chiefs completed a double over inform Harare giants Dynamos as they put up a gallant fight to snatch the maximum points in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Barbourfields Stadium.

Chiefs became the first team to beat Dynamos this season with a 3-2 win in the reverse fixture in Harare five months ago.

The victory was the first one for Johannes Nhumwa since he took over at Amakhosi and was also the first defeat for Genesis Mangombe since he took over at Dynamos.

It was the Glamour Boys's first defeat at BF, their newly adopted home.

The only blemish of the otherwise exciting match was the erratic performance by referee of the day Tichaona Tigere, who made a lot of questionable decisions.

Dynamos skipper Frank Makarati violently pushed marauding Dynamos in an off the ball incident in the 70th minute, but he was only shown a yellow card.

Chirinda had to be substituted nursing an injury immediately after the incident.

DeMbare gaffer Mangombe did not condone his captain's behaviour and he said that his boys did not play according to instructions, especially in the first half.

"Maybe he was a bit harsh, but he was frustrated. These guys (Chiefs) were delaying play and doing all the dirty tactics. He was frustrated. But I'm happy he controlled his emotions, maybe he was supposed to be red carded. We don't accept that. We will go back to the drawing board and tell the leader to lead by example," said Mangombe.

“It was a good game, but we failed to match our opponents in the sense that if you want to win this game try to play it fast and have so many entries in the box. But in the first half we failed to do that and in the second half we tried to rectify the problem. We should have tried to defend that second goal better. That's the game of football, there are times you lose a match through a silly mistake."

The game was decided by a three-goal blitz inside five minutes of the second half after the two teams went to the breather deadlocked.

Bulawayo Chiefs' inform midfielder Mthokozisi Msebe swung in a corner kick in the 47th minute which Tymon Mvula punched into the path of Malvin Mkolo.

The Chiefs skipper fired home to thrust his team into the lead.

Four minutes later, Dynamos equalised courtesy of a left-footed strike by Donald Mudadi.

Mudadi picked up a loose ball inside the box and fired past Issah Ali in goals for Bulawayo Chiefs.

A minute later, Obriel Chirinda silenced the Dynamos faithful, neatly controlling a Msebe pass before outpacing Makarati and burying the effort home with the composure of a veteran.

Dynamos were caught on the counter after going all out to get a second goal as they sensed blood.

Nhumwa was happy that their plan for Dynamos worked.

"It's a good to win. We train to win, so that's the motto. Dynamos is a very good team, a very strong one. One of the most supported teams in the country. So it was quite good for us to get three points against them,” he said.

Bulawayo Chiefs started a bit on the offensive and in the second minute, Chirinda should have opened the scoring after a defensive mix-up between Mvula and Makarati but his effort was cleared from the line by the latter.

Dynamos, who dominated the match had close opportunities to equalise in added time when Nyasha Chintuli turned inside the box but his effort drew the best out of Ali.

Elton Chakona also failed to slot the ball past an outdrawn Ali as Dembare threw numbers forward in search of an elusive equaliser

Bulawayo Chiefs almost scored the third one, when Msebe's free kick hit the crossbar with Mvula rooted to the same spot at the stroke of full-time.
