Bulawayo Chiefs…… 0

Tenax…………………. 0

BULAWAYO Chiefs head coach Nilton Terroso was left a disappointed man after a defensive masterclass earned visiting Tenax a share of the spoils following a goalless stalemate at Luveve Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Mutare based outfit parked the bus for the entire match and their resolute defending paid off as they earned a point on the road.

“We had a poor game to be honest. Our overall performance was poor and we are obviously disappointed with the result.

“Yes we controlled the game and didn’t concede chances whilst creating numerous, but for a team with the quality that we have and the chances that we create we have to score goals,” bemoaned Terroso.

The script could have been different though had Chiefs been clinical in front of goal on the occasions when they were able to breach the visitors’ defence.

Star midfielder Perfect Chikwende and the hard running Obriel Chirinda had chances that were not converted in the first quarter of the game while Ghanaian import Dela Arkoli hit the side netting after coming on as a second half substitute.

Chirinda went on to spurn another good chance after finding himself unmarked and at the end of a Chikwende cross on 69 minutes.

A sluggish first half did not help matters also and although they did pick up momentum after a raft of changes in the second half, it proved to be too late to influence the outcome of the game.

Tenax gaffer Shadreck Mugurasave was full of praise for his charges at the end of the encounter.

“It was a good game for us as a new team and I expect more from these youngsters in the next coming game,” he said.

I am very happy to pick up a point away from home considering that we were playing one of the best teams in the country.”
