Dynamos Executive Chairman Vincent Chawonza has broken his silence on the pressing issues surrounding the club, providing much-needed clarity on sponsorship, new leadership structures, and the historic atmosphere of the recent Harare Derby.
Speaking directly to the DeMbare faithful via a video posted on the club's social media platforms, Chawonza delivered a state-of-the-nation address, blending gratitude with a firm vision for Zimbabwe’s most storied football institution.
"I come to you today with great pride and a sense of ownership and I would like to thank you for your patience, passion and the support that you've given the team," Chawonza said.
Addressing the restructuring of the club’s fan base, Chawonza confirmed that a new leadership framework is nearly complete. The goal is to modernize the club's engagement with its massive following.
"We are going to usher in a new leadership for our supporters. The process is ongoing and it will be concluded this coming Saturday whereby a new leadership that comes from the chapter chairpersons is going to be ushered into office for renewed brains, fresh ideas and also for the continued support."
The Chairman grew nostalgic when reflecting on the massive turnout for the Harare Derby. For Chawonza, the sea of fans signaled a return to the club's glory days.

"Thank you for coming in numbers and having broken the record of attendance. I think this crowd was last seen in the last two decades," he noted, invoking the era of legends like Vitalis Takawira and Tauya Murehwa.
While the result on the pitch was disappointing for the Glamour Boys, Chawonza emphasised the significance of the spectacle for the national game:
"The Harare Derby was not only for Dynamos. Though this is a result that we did not expect, it's a bittersweet moment whereby you show that football is back in the country. You've shown that Caps and Dynamos are supported very well in this country."
Looking forward, he expressed hope that the return of the National Sports Stadium would provide a stage worthy of such a massive fixture: "I think the venue will be bigger. I just hope that the National Sports Stadium will be back."
Perhaps most importantly, Chawonza moved to quash rising speculation regarding the club's independence. He drew a hard line between commercial partnerships and the club’s equity.
"The sponsorship deals have nothing to do with ownership or shares. It is not a crime. In the world today, it is a new trend, it's partnerships. When you get sponsorship, you also have something to give."
He reminded the 'seven million' fans that their loyalty is the club's greatest currency, urging them to support the brands that invest in the team.
"There is a reason why sponsors are choosing Dynamos Football Club. It's about our numbers, the seven million. You, the heart and soul of the club, continue supporting our sponsor so that we give them the value of their money."
